Amina Worrell

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern IMH 27504

"Meeting you where you are, to help you get where you want to be."
Struggling with anxiety, trauma, or life transitions can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to face it alone. I’m Amina Worrell, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern originally from Brooklyn, NY, and a graduate of Long Island University. With years of experience supporting youth, adults, couples, and families, I am dedicated to helping my clients move from feeling "stuck" to feeling empowered.

My Therapeutic Style
My approach is deeply collaborative and solution-focused. I believe that real change happens through reflective, thought-provoking questioning and consistent verbal encouragement. I don’t just focus on the problem; I help you see things through a positive lens to uncover the strengths you already possess. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where we can explore your goals and build the resilience needed for lasting change.
In my practice, I am guided by the principle that "we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). This perspective allows me to help clients look beyond their current circumstances and believe in the possibility of a brighter, more fulfilling future, even when the path forward isn't immediately visible.

My clinical interests include:
Self-Worth: Helping you find your voice and confidence. Marriage & Relationship: Navigating communication and interpersonal conflict. Life Transitions: Support for those feeling "stuck" during major life shifts. Anxiety: Practical tools for managing daily stressors. Faith-Based Counseling: Experienced spiritual support for clients seeking to integrate their faith into their healing journey. Empowerment & Personal Growth: Moving beyond symptoms to true flourishing.

About Me

Outside of the office, I find balance in the simple joys of life. I am an avid gardener, a lover of music, and I cherish every moment spent with my family. These personal passions keep me grounded and remind me that healing—much like a garden—requires patience, nourishment, and a steady walk of faith to truly bloom.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself or a loved one, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Let's work together to help you become unstuck and move forward with purpose.
